Sketchup: Intro

For this project, students were asked to model a room in Sketchup. We needed to create a 14' x 24' room with a 12' ceiling. The walls were to be 6" thick. In the space, students were asked to provide a door on one of the 14' walls, a set of windows on the opposite 14' wall, and three 2' x 3' skylights equally spaced throughout the room. Here is my interpretation...

SYTYCD: Tying it all Together

For the second round of the contest students were asked to create a header for the second year blog. It needed to be 3" x 10" in a landscape format, should title the blog for Second Year, and be visually interesting. This is what I created...

A Second View

Using the floor plan I created, I then had to develop a one-point perspective of the north wall. Once more, the finished product was to be on a 12" x 18" sheet of vellum and black lined.

SYTYCD: Connections and Joints

This year our professors implemented a weekly drawing competition- so you think you can(t) DRAW. For our first assignment we needed to create a drawing on a 12" x 12" sheet of white paper using only black pen to draw the joint. I decided to think outside of the box and draw a couple kissing... however, I was later informed that while it my be a connection it is to provocative for the public school system.

Floor Plan

After creating a one point interior perspective, I was asked to then create a floor plan. In addition to the objects already located in the space i needed to imagine the other side of the perspective as a study area that would contain a desk, a chair, a book shelve, lighting, and at least one additional point of entry. The plan was to be in 1/2" scale and produced on a 12" x 18" sheet of vellum.

View point

In this project students were asked to draw a 14' x 24' space with a 12' ceiling height from an inspirational photo. There had to be one window and one door in the South. Two other windows needed to be incorporated into the space in addition to a 3' x 2' skylight. The skylight was to be placed in the Southwest corner of the room. Students were also asked to place a 3' x 6' dinning table with six chairs under the skylight. In the South east corner there was to be a sofa, an easy chair, and a coffee table. The final drawing was to be ink lined on a 12" x 18" sheet of paper.
